Sarah DeCroteau of Melrose, 66, owned realty co.

Sarah A. "Sally" (Cloherty) DeCroteau of Melrose, a real estate company owner, died Monday at home after a long illness. She was 66.

Born and raised in Boston, she was educated in Boston schools and lived in Medford [Melrose] for the past 30 years.

Mrs. DeCroteau owned and operated the DeCroteau Realty Co. for 25 years and then managed the Melrose Copy Center for the last 10 years.

She was a member of the Massachusetts Realty Board, the Eastern Middlesex Board of Realtors, and the Melrose Community Development Board.

Mrs. DeCroteau also suppported the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind and the Mary Foley Scholarship Fund. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene F.; three daughters, Jeanne M. Smith of Malden, Mary of Reading and Joan Alexander of Melrose; four sons, Michael S. of Stoneham, James C. of Malden, Joseph C. of Miami Shores, Fla., and Mark C. of Melrose; a sister, Mary Cardinal of Watertown; and 10 grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. DeCroteau at 9 a.m. today in St. Mary's Church, 44 Myrtle St., Melrose.

Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
